FRCC Building, Round 2

The City of Fort Collins and FRCC have scheduled another public neighborhood meeting to discuss the Integrated Technology (FRCC IT) Building plan.

After the first meeting, FRCC and planners have changed their original building plans, but failed to release the new plans ahead of the meeting, thereby denying Coventry residents and neighbors a chance to review the plans and discover what issues need to be research and discussed prior to the meeting.  Note: The meeting info is not on their website…yet.

You should have received notice by now…here is the mailed notice: FRCC_Notices12012013.

The meeting is Tues, Dec 3, 6pm, FRCC.

Some issues that are unknown:

  • Why is the City of Fort Collins not posting the information about this meeting ahead of time?
  • What/Where are the new building plans?
  • What are the current noise levels, and what are the expected levels in the future?  How will the noise level be mitigated? (fans, blowers, filters, power tools, air tools, etc.)
  • Why the small setbacks from Coventry homes? (no trees, burms, walking paths, etc.)
  • What hazardous and deadly chemicals will be present and how far from homes? (cleaners, paints, flammable gases, etc.)
  • What electrical noise will be present and how will it interfere with wifi, baby monitors, security systems, radios, etc.  (arc welding, etc.)
  • What is the zoning now and in the future? (residential with industrial use???)
  • Is the building appropriate to the zoning?  What is the current zoning?
  • How will property values be affected by the presence of an “industrial” use near a neighborhood zoning? (loss of value in neighborhood and decay of character?)
  • Why disrupt the quiet enjoyment of Coventry forever instead of a 12 month interruption to remodel the existing building?
  • FRCC is growing and will continue to grow over the next 20 years….what happens when FRCC outgrows the current space?

These are a few questions that will be asked at the meeting.  If you have a concern for your property values, safety and quiet enjoyment, attend the meeting to voice your concerns.

If you are unable, please notify a Coventry Board Member or Faith Property Management.
